Thank you very much for your comments concerning our article, Surgical Results of a Muscle Transposition Procedure for Abducens Palsy without Tenotomy and Muscle Splitting.

As you pointed out, in Figure 3, the eyes of patient 7 in right gaze seem to be in dextro-depression position. However, we were sure that the right eye of patient 7 could not move beyond the midline before surgery. We accurately evaluated preoperative deviation based on true right gaze in the horizontal line. As you pointed out, the right eye of patient 7 could not abduct completely in right horizontal gaze after surgery. However, we confirmed that the eyes (patients 2, 4, 7) could move beyond the midline after our unilateral new muscle transposition procedure.

Although we evaluated single binocular vision measured by the Hess chart at 1 meter in all patients, the data shown in Figure 4 were based on subjective responses. Patients 2, 4, 6, and 7 increased their fields of binocular single vision; their range of binocular single vision could not be regained completely but could improve partially, as you point out.
