Clinical Characteristics of Reticular Pseudodrusen in Korean Patients




We read the article entitled “Clinical Characteristics of Reticular Pseudodrusen in Korean Patients,” by Lee and associates. In their article, the authors present the clinical characteristics of reticular pseudodrusen in Korean patients.


However, we disagree with the authors about the diagnosis of 64-year-old woman whose retinal findings were presented in Figure 2. The diagnosis could not be neovascular age-related macular degeneration because the retinal pigment epithelium line on the optical coherence tomography image was not disturbed anatomically (Figure 2, Bottom row [right corner]). According to the findings on the optical coherence tomography image, we believe that this patient had adult-onset vitelliform macular dystrophy, not neovascular age-related macular degeneration.
