We thank Drs Khan and Bennett for the interesting perspective from the British and Eire Association of Vitreo-Retinal Surgeons (BEAVRS) meeting. Their letter suggests that this topic is clinically relevant, though some debate still exists. We are not aware of a similar recent polling of US vitreoretinal surgeons but think that this conversation would be valuable in our country as well. The results of our investigation lend data for further informed discussion on this topic.
