We thank Dr Matthias Neuburger and his associates for sharing their findings on the in vitro model experiment to study the dependence of corneal hysteresis on intraocular pressure. Their results showed that the Ocular Response Analyzer (Reichert Ophthalmic Instruments, Dephew, New York, USA) cannot determine proper corneal hysteresis at higher intraocular pressure levels, which supports Dr Mitsugu Shimmyo’s theory. We are also in agreement with their explanation about their study. We hope this exchange will stimulate further research toward better understanding of the mechanical aspect of the Ocular Response Analyzer.
