I was delighted to read Dr Carifi’s letter. I feel the message that retrobulbar block has a greater potential for complications was sent by a caring colleague. Losing an eye down the line due to a retrobulbar anesthesia complication would be unforgivable. In light of Dr Carifi’s letter, and recall of certain events during retrobulbar anesthesia, I will modify my technique.
